Chinese and US presidents end talks in Beijing; Xi calls dialogue the best option while reaffirming Taiwan stance.

The meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing has concluded, China’s state television reported.
During the discussions, Xi described dialogue as the “best option” for resolving differences with the American side. He also stressed that Taiwan’s independence is incompatible with achieving peace in the Taiwan Strait.
Proper handling of the Taiwan issue, Xi noted, helps maintain stability in bilateral relations between China and the United States.
Following the meeting, President Trump visited the Temple of Heaven, accompanied by President Xi Jinping.
