Belgorod Governor Confirms One Dead, 14 Injured in Drone Attack
Russia's Belgorod region suffered one death and 14 injuries following a large-scale Ukrainian drone assault, according to regional governor Alexander Shufayev.

Alexander Shufayev, the governor of Russia’s southwestern Belgorod region, reported that a single civilian was killed and 14 others sustained injuries during a recent Ukrainian drone strike on the area. The announcement followed an overnight incident described as a broad aerial attack targeting the province.
In a statement posted to the Russian social media platform Max, Shufayev detailed the extent of the damage. He confirmed that Belgorod faced a wide-ranging drone offensive last night, which resulted in the death of one person and left 14 individuals wounded. The governor’s communication served as the primary official account of the casualties from this specific engagement.
Investigation Chief Estimates Massive Losses
Separately, Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, provided a broader assessment of the financial toll exacted by Ukrainian operations. Bastrykin estimated that attacks on the Donbas territory, border regions, and internal areas have caused damages totaling approximately 1.1 trillion rubles. This figure translates to roughly 13 billion dollars in cumulative losses attributed to these hostilities.
While officials quantified the economic impact, military developments continue on the ground. The Russian army is currently expanding the buffer zone deep within Ukrainian territory. This strategic maneuver aims to push Ukrainian forces beyond the range of drones and other weaponry used to target locations inside Russia.
