Dubai: Death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

The media office of the Government of Dubai announced today, Monday, the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and declared a 10-day flag mourning period in Dubai.

In a statement from the media office: "With hearts resigned to God's decree and will, the office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, mourns the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who passed away this morning, Monday. The office has declared official mourning and lowered flags throughout Dubai for ten days starting today. Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed to Him we return."

In a post on the platform "X", Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum paid tribute: "May God have mercy on Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum... May God grant you peace, my brother... You have reached the presence of a generous and mighty Lord. Though you are no longer visible to our eyes, you remain present in our prayers and hearts, O Ahmed. May God grant you a spacious abode in Paradise. Grant us and your loved ones patience and solace. Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed to Him we return."
