The FBI intercepted a planned multi-phase terrorist attack aimed at the White House during the UFC event held on President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.

The FBI uncovered and disrupted a multi-stage terrorist plan targeting the White House and nearby areas during the UFC event held on President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday on the South Lawn.
Authorities discovered the plot on June 10, just days before the historic UFC fight that reportedly included attendance by government officials and VIPs.
According to official reports, the attack involved drones equipped with explosives aimed at buildings near the event venue. The plan was to force an evacuation into a zone where a second wave of assault, involving snipers, would take place. Ultimately, the White House gates were the final target of the attack.
FBI Director Kash Patel praised his team’s swift response, stating, “While the result represented the best of investigative work, it was also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement team.” He added, “We are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens—particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC [Freedom] 250 fight. That’s exactly what we did here.”
The FBI has detained one suspect from Cincinnati and taken five others into custody. Investigators have identified a total of 23 individuals involved in the conspiracy.
President Trump appeared unaware of the foiled threat, commenting, “I haven’t heard about it. The attack that I watched were the fighters. … They were as good a fights as I’ve ever seen, the best. That last fight was brutal, and the two last—all of the fights were good. It was all good, it was a great evening, it was very different for the White House.”
The UFC event itself was marked by Justin Gaethje’s knockout victory over Ilia Topuria to unify the UFC lightweight titles.
