A fire ignited on the Brooklyn Bridge when fireworks were set off as part of the Fourth of July celebration held above the East River, according to the New York Post. The blaze reportedly affected two other sections of the bridge where explosive materials were launched from the same area.

The newspaper reported that all fires were extinguished within a minute, but it remains unclear what damage, if any, occurred to the bridge's structure.

A video shared by the New York Post on its YouTube channel showed fireworks exploding around the bridge's framework, followed by flames consuming a small portion of it.

The Fourth of July marks the 250th anniversary of the United States' founding, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia in 1776, a day traditionally celebrated nationwide.
