Fox News: Tulsi Gabbard to resign as US intelligence chief
Tulsi Gabbard is expected to step down as director of national intelligence, citing support for her husband in his fight with a rare bone cancer.

Fox News said Tulsi Gabbard, the U.S. director of national intelligence, will announce her resignation from the post. The network said she gave the reason as wanting to support her husband in his battle with a "very rare type of bone cancer."
According to the network, Gabbard told President Donald Trump of her decision during a meeting in the Oval Office on Friday. It added that her last day in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is expected to be June 30.
The network said it had obtained a copy of Gabbard's formal resignation letter. In it, she said: "I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me and for the opportunity I have had to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence over the past year and a half."
She added: "Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026. My husband, Abraham, was recently diagnosed with a very rare type of bone cancer."
Gabbard said she had "made significant progress in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, through enhancing an unprecedented level of transparency and restoring integrity within the intelligence community," while acknowledging that "there is still important work to be done."
Fox News also said Gabbard is setting up a new task force inside the intelligence community to restore transparency.
