A fleet of 54 boats carrying aid and activists will depart from Turkey Thursday to challenge the blockade on Gaza.

Fifty-four boats are scheduled to depart from Turkey’s coast on Thursday, carrying humanitarian supplies and multinational activist crews in a renewed bid to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip. The initiative, announced by the “Global Flotilla for Resilience,” marks the latest attempt to deliver urgent relief to the enclave’s residents.
The flotilla’s cargo includes food, medicine, and other essential supplies deemed critical amid the worsening humanitarian crisis caused by ongoing conflict and closures. Organizers framed the voyage under the banner “Breaking the Siege with Peace,” emphasizing that participants adhere to neutral humanitarian principles.
Preparations along Turkey’s coastline are intensifying as crews from around the world gather for the departure. Authorities are closely monitoring the movement to ensure the safety of the journey, given the complex security environment in the region.
The organizers are calling on the international community to pressure for the establishment of permanent, organized safe corridors for aid delivery. They stressed that the mission is a civilian, international effort aimed at drawing global attention to the plight of Gaza’s civilian population.
The “Global Flotilla for Resilience” is described as a grassroots international initiative that has previously organized several maritime campaigns. Those earlier missions faced logistical and security challenges but succeeded in raising worldwide awareness about the conditions in Gaza, which has been under a naval blockade for years.
