Iran's national security chief denied reports that his country was planning to assassinate Barron, the youngest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, describing the allegations as "fabricated propaganda."

Mohsen Rezaei clarified in a televised statement that these are "big lies" through which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aims to manipulate Trump, according to Iranian media reports.

He also added: "If we had decided to assassinate him, we would have prevented nothing."

Threats Against the Trump Family

Iranian media outlets published content threatening Trump and his family following the assassination of Iran's former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and several members of his family at the beginning of the war against Iran late last February.

In a nearly three-minute video broadcast by Iran's Islamic Republic Broadcasting (IRIB), an English-language message appeared saying: "Where do we kill Barron Trump?" The clip also included illustrations of locations publicly known to be frequented by Trump's son, including "Trump Tower" in New York.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Secret Service confirmed it is aware of the broadcast by Iranian state media of a video that appears to threaten the life of Barron Trump.

U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring said in a statement: "The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the video and is investigating anything that could be considered a threat to individuals under our protection."

Herring also added: "For operational security, we do not discuss intelligence-related information regarding protection."
