A spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service said Tuesday the agency is aware of a video broadcast by Iran's official television discussing a possible assassination plot targeting Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump.

"The agency is aware of the video and is investigating any matter that could be considered a threat to individuals we provide protection for," said Nett Herring, spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service, in an email message. "Out of operational security concerns, we do not discuss matters related to preventive intelligence measures."

Iran's official television aired a three-minute video discussing a possible assassination plan against 20-year-old Barron Trump, stating he is under surveillance and a $10 million reward is being offered for his killing.

The United States and Iran have exchanged hostile statements during the ongoing conflict that began about six months ago, initiated by the U.S. and Israel in February.

Earlier this month, Reuters reported, citing officials, that the United States had received several warnings from Israel over the past year indicating Iran's intent to assassinate Trump, including one shortly before a secret operation involving the U.S. presidential aircraft in Turkey.
