An Iranian official warns Tehran could enrich uranium to weapons-grade 90% purity if the country faces a new attack.

Tehran could shift to enriching uranium at 90% purity—a level suitable for weapons—if it comes under a new attack, a senior Iranian lawmaker said Tuesday. The threshold, often described as "military-grade," would mark a dramatic escalation in Iran's nuclear program.
Ibrahim Rezaei, who speaks for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in Iran's parliament, posted the warning on X. "Enrichment to 90 percent could be one of the options available to Iran in the event of another attack. We will discuss this in parliament," he wrote.
