Musk Comments on Republican Losses After Spending $445 Million to Support Their Candidates
Elon Musk sarcastically commented on the Republicans' midterm election losses, ignoring the impact of his record $445 million spending to support party candidates in key races.

American billionaire Elon Musk sarcastically commented on the losses suffered by Republicans in the midterm elections, ignoring the repercussions of his record spending to support the party's candidates in a number of major electoral races, which was estimated at approximately $445 million.
The founder of "Tesla" and "SpaceX" wrote in a post on the "X" platform: "It seems that the space lasers I used to interfere in the elections did not work this time," in a sarcastic reference to the Republicans' losses despite the significant financial support he provided them.
According to a report published by the British newspaper "The Guardian," Musk was the largest donor in the midterm elections after injecting about $445 million to support Republican Party candidates in major races, exceeding the total external spending directed to support Democratic candidates.
In response, a number of Democrats pledged to open investigations into Musk and his role in what became known as the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE), which oversaw a wide reduction in the work of a number of federal agencies, amid expectations that Democrats would regain control of Congress.
