The naval forces of Iran's Revolutionary Guard stated on Thursday that 31 commercial ships, including oil tankers and container vessels, have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours with their coordination.

According to a statement carried by Tasnim news agency, the Revolutionary Guard emphasized that the ships transited "with coordination and security assurance" provided by their naval forces. The statement noted this occurred despite what it described as "American aggression" and unprecedented security tensions in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement further indicated that the Revolutionary Guard Navy has worked to "secure a safe route to maintain the flow of global trade" through the strait, which is considered one of the world's most strategic energy transit corridors.

Earlier, an entity called the "Gulf Waterway Management Authority," recently established by the Revolutionary Guard, announced the scope of its supervisory authority over the Strait of Hormuz. It asserted that navigation through the strait must be coordinated with this authority and require its permission.

The Revolutionary Guard's naval forces declared that passage through the Strait of Hormuz now necessitates prior coordination with the "Gulf Waterway Management Authority" and obtaining its approval.
