Kremlin Hints at Trilateral Summit Between Putin, Xi, and Trump

Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin official, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American and Chinese counterparts, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, might hold a trilateral meeting during the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in November.

Responding to a question on state television about the possibility of such a meeting, Ushakov said, "Yes, this topic has been discussed."

He added that it is expected that the three leaders will attend the summit "and if things turn out as mentioned, the three could hold a meeting."

Ushakov was speaking from Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, where Putin and Xi attended a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Russia, China, and the United States are members of APEC, which includes 21 members. Shenzhen, China, will host the upcoming leaders' summit on November 18 and 19.

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said: "We currently have no announcements regarding President Trump's attendance at the APEC summit."
