Moscow Warns Europe Against Launching Military Operation in Black Sea
Russian Foreign Ministry official Vladislav Maslenikov criticizes the European Parliament's push for a military mission in the Black Sea, warning it aims to arm Kyiv and escalate tensions.

Russian Foreign Ministry Director for European Affairs Vladislav Maslenikov stated that the European Parliament's efforts to launch a military mission in the Black Sea aim to supply Kyiv with weapons and fuel tension.
Maslenikov told Izvestia newspaper that it is reasonable to assume the European Parliament's decision is based on the EU's desire to secure the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine via sea routes.
He added that attempts to implement such ideas can only lead to a new round of escalation and increased tension throughout the entire Black Sea region.
Maslenikov criticized EU sanctions that hinder ship insurance, financial settlements, and food exports through the Black Sea.
The European Parliament adopted a resolution on October 22 calling on the EU to consider deploying a naval operation in the Black Sea.
Lawmakers also called on EU countries, in cooperation with NATO, to support Bulgaria and Romania in early detection and tracking of drones threatening navigation in the Black Sea.
