Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that the Islamic Republic will no longer adhere to any red lines, responding to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's remarks regarding US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed that "the Islamic Republic will not abide by any red lines anymore," in response to statements by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Araghchi wrote on his "X" account: "When the US and Zionist airstrikes on Iran began last year, Merz welcomed those attacks, describing them as carrying out Europe's dirty work." He added: "The sum of 100 billion euros cannot be compared to the decisive and destructive response that the Iranian armed forces will direct at anyone who dares to violate our people's sovereignty, and there will be no more red lines."
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had called for prioritizing the diplomatic path to end the conflict during the conclusion of his visit to South Korea, commenting on speculation regarding the potential renewal of US attacks on Iran.
Merz said: "I urge all conflicting parties to realize that a military solution is not an option. We are working to strengthen and coordinate diplomatic efforts through various channels to end this conflict as soon as possible."
He pointed to the economic repercussions of the conflict on the European continent, explaining that Germany has vital economic interests in resolving this dispute, noting that rising energy prices have already caused Europe losses exceeding 100 billion euros.
