The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has announced that technical talks between the United States and Iran are scheduled for June 21 in Burgistein, Switzerland.

According to a statement posted on the ministry's "X" platform, "Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding in Islamabad, technical-level discussions will be held in Burgistein, Switzerland, on June 21, 2026. Representatives from the United States and Iran will participate in the talks, along with mediators from Pakistan and Qatar."

In related developments, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all ships.

The talks in Burgistein, initially planned to take place after the remote signing of the memorandum, were to include representatives from both countries and mediators from Qatar and Pakistan concerning the Iranian nuclear issue. However, these discussions were postponed.

It is noted that on the night of June 18, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding remotely, which stipulates ending the military conflict that began on February 28. The memorandum also sets a timeline for the United States to lift the naval blockade and for Iran to resume navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Both parties are obligated to conduct talks within 60 days.
