Photos of bribes surface in Istanbul judicial probe
A Bakırköy prosecutor's investigation into organized interference in Istanbul courts has revealed photos of a suspended judge with cash, leading to arrests.

Suspension and arrest orders have been issued against multiple judicial figures following a Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office investigation into alleged organized interference in Istanbul courthouses between 2022 and 2024. The probe uncovered that businesspeople, politicians, and lawyers attempted to manipulate court decisions through judges and staff in exchange for financial benefits.

Investigation scope and findings
The inquiry focuses on allegations of systematic manipulation within various Istanbul judicial districts. Investigators determined that external actors sought to direct legal processes via contacts among judicial personnel. Evidence collected indicates that unlawful interventions occurred in cases and investigations during the specified period.
Charges under scrutiny include receiving bribes, giving bribes, acting as intermediaries for bribery, and establishing or managing criminal organizations. The prosecutor’s office confirmed that material interests were exchanged for illegal influence over judicial outcomes.

Photographic evidence of corruption
Documents entered into the case file include photographs showing a suspended judge alongside stacks of banknotes. These images depict moments of money transfer involving an informant-suspect and the judge accused of accepting bribes. The visual records have drawn significant public reaction regarding the integrity of justice institutions.
The discovery of these photographic proofs marked a critical development in the ongoing examination of the network allegedly operating within the judiciary.
Legal actions against officials
Five judges and prosecutors have been removed from their duties as part of the operational measures taken by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. B.K., formerly serving as a judge at the Istanbul 4th Enforcement Law Court, was arrested and sent to prison on charges related to bribery.
Arrest warrants have been issued for two additional judicial members. Concurrently, judicial reviews are continuing concerning one retired prosecutor and one resigned judge linked to the same investigative framework.
