Polish President Karol Nawrocki suggested stripping Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of Poland's highest award after naming a military unit after the UPA organization.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki proposed on Friday to revoke the Order of the White Eagle, Poland's highest honor, from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This suggestion followed Zelensky's decision to name a military unit after the Ukrainian nationalist organization UPA, which is accused of committing massacres against Poles during World War II.
Expressing "extreme anger," Nawrocki told reporters that he had recommended withdrawing the Order of the White Eagle from Zelensky, according to Agence France-Presse.
Earlier, the Polish military announced that the Polish Air Force is active in the country's airspace following Russian attacks on Ukraine. The military described these actions as precautionary measures aimed at securing and protecting Polish airspace, especially in regions adjacent to threatened areas.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cited intelligence information from Ukraine, the United States, and Europe indicating that Russia is preparing to launch an attack on Ukraine using the Oryx missile, according to Reuters.
