Salah: “Trabzonspor Is My Team — Last Night’s Events Won’t Change That”
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah addressed Trabzonspor fans after the Turkish club’s 5–0 aggregate exit to Hungary’s Ferencváros in the UEFA Europa League play-off round.

Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, a player for Turkish club Trabzonspor, issued a message to the club’s supporters following their elimination from the UEFA Europa League.
Trabzonspor was eliminated from the competition after losing 5–0 on aggregate to Hungarian side Ferencváros in the Europa League play-off round final. The club will now compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League for the current season.
Salah’s social media statement
Salah posted the message on his social media account, writing: “Nothing in my career has come easily. Bad nights and disappointments are part of football — and I’ve learned to turn them into motivation and into trophies.”
He added: “Trabzonspor is my team. I am part of this project in body and soul — and what happened last night will not change that.”
Salah continued: “I know expectations are high, and I truly believe we can — and will — achieve what we aim for. The phrase ‘I came here to win’ is not just a slogan for me.”
Upcoming domestic fixture
Salah is set to play his next match with Trabzonspor against Amedspor in the third round of the Turkish Süper Lig.
The match is scheduled for Monday, 31 August, at 9:30 p.m. Cairo time.
