A poll conducted by the peace-oriented organization J Street revealed that 72% of American Jewish voters cast their ballots for Democratic Party candidates in Tuesday's congressional midterm elections, compared to 24% who supported Republican candidates.

The survey results indicate stability in Jewish voter trends compared to the 2024 elections, when the share voting for Democrats was also 72%, versus 26% for Republicans.

The poll uncovered clear positions among Jewish voters regarding Israeli policies, with 76% supporting sanctions against Israeli settlers involved in violence in the West Bank, according to "The Times of Israel".

Additionally, 66% of participants believed that election spending by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) targeting candidates critical of Israel contributes to rising antisemitism within the United States.

Eighty percent of Jewish voters considered that Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank lead to an increase in antisemitism in the United States, according to the survey findings.

The poll included 800 Jewish voters and was conducted by GBAO between October 28 and November 3, with a margin of error of 3.5%.

Jim Gerstein, founding president of GBAO Strategies, stated that American Jews remain a core electoral base for the Democratic Party, noting their adherence to established political beliefs and values, and highlighting that their voting behavior has remained remarkably stable despite the emergence of controversial issues in each election cycle.

Gerstein added that prevailing perceptions regarding the impact of Jewish fears of antisemitism and their stances on supporting Israel do not necessarily reflect how they engage with these issues within the framework of American politics, explaining that Jewish voters adopt thoughtful and complex positions on them, which is not always evident in broad media coverage of the Jewish community.
