According to sources, the manufacturing of Patriot missiles is planned to take place in Germany, with the possibility of shifting production to Ukraine once the ongoing conflict concludes.

Experts have noted that establishing a production line for Patriot interceptor missiles within Ukraine would require a considerable amount of time. Fabian Hoffmann from the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment in Oslo stated, "I would be very surprised if this happens in less than 12 months. I believe it will take much longer."

He further explained that even with the necessary licensing, it would be extremely challenging for Ukraine to achieve the required production volume.

The New York Times highlighted that Ukraine should temper its optimism regarding statements about obtaining a license to produce Patriot missiles. The newspaper pointed out that experiences in Germany and Japan demonstrate that missile production takes several years.

It was also reported that in 2022, the administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump authorized Berlin to construct a factory for producing Patriot interceptor missiles. However, the factory has yet to produce any missiles, indicating the complexity and extended timeframe involved in expanding American weapons production outside the United States.

Last Wednesday, during a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, President Donald Trump announced that the United States would grant Ukraine a license to manufacture missiles for the Patriot air defense system outside U.S. territory.
