Putin Casts His Vote in State Duma Elections

Russian President Vladimir Putin participated today, Friday, in the voting for the ninth term of the State Duma, casting his ballot online.

In video footage released by the Kremlin, the head of state is seen sitting in front of a computer in his office, clicking several times to cast his vote.

This is the sixth time Putin has chosen electronic voting. He first used online voting in the previous State Duma elections in September 2021. A year later, he voted remotely in municipal council elections, and in 2023, in Moscow mayoral elections.

In March 2024, Putin opted for electronic voting in the presidential election, and in September of the same year, he voted from his residence in Novo-Ogariyovo during Moscow city council elections.

The State Duma elections and other concurrent elections began today, Friday, September 18, and will continue for three days until Sunday, September 20.
