Russia and Syria have reached an agreement to reopen the Russian House in Damascus after being closed for over a year and a half.

Russia and Syria have agreed to resume operations at the Russian House in Damascus following a closure lasting more than eighteen months.
The announcement came from the Rossotrudnichestvo agency to RT channel, stating that its head, Igor Chaika, met with Abdul Razzaq Ismail, the chargé d'affaires at the Syrian embassy in Moscow, at the agency's headquarters.
The negotiations concluded with an agreement to reopen the center, which had been closed since December 2024.
Rossotrudnichestvo indicated that Chaika proposed sending a technical delegation to Syria as soon as possible to assess the current condition of the Russian House and to coordinate all necessary organizational arrangements. Chaika is also expected to travel personally to Damascus to attend the official opening of the agency's representative office.
