Six Drones Shot Down Over Northern Iraq's Erbil

A Iraqi security source announced late Thursday night to Friday that six drones were shot down over the skies of Erbil in northern Iraq.

The source said the international coalition's air defense system in Erbil, the capital of Iraq's Kurdistan Region, was activated following a drone attack.

According to the source, the drone attack originated from Nineveh Governorate.

Two days prior, four drones fell during the early hours of Wednesday, targeting three sites in the districts of Soran, Khelfan, and Hewler in Erbil Governorate, part of the Iranian Kurdish opposition, according to the "Roodeo" network.

The network's correspondent reported that the incidents caused a fire in shrubs and pastures on Mount Bani Harir due to one drone crash, while another landed near a village in Khelfan, and a third struck a civilian home in Soran, with confirmation that no human casualties were recorded at any of the locations.
