Syrian Foreign Ministry Moves to Support Surviving Sailors After Ship Sinks Off Bulgaria
The Syrian Foreign Ministry is actively supporting the survivors of a shipwreck off the Bulgarian coast, where 14 Syrian sailors were on board.

Mohammad Yaqoub Al-Omar, Director of Consular Affairs at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, stated that the ministry is monitoring developments regarding the sinking of the vessel "HS DIGNITY" off the Bulgarian coast, which had 14 Syrian sailors on board.
Al-Omar added in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Sunday that the head of the Syrian diplomatic mission in Sofia visited the surviving Syrian sailors to ensure their safety, confirming the ministry's commitment to following up on their affairs and providing all necessary consular support.
He confirmed that the head of the mission also made a field visit to the Bulgarian city of Varna, during which he met with officials from the Bulgarian Border Police and directly reviewed the rescue efforts undertaken.
Al-Omar stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates continues to monitor the situation of Syrian nationals, coordinating with Bulgaria to provide them with consular support and obtain information regarding the missing persons.
The vessel "HS DIGNITY" sank on October 13 after being attacked by a drone off the Bulgarian coast. It was carrying 16 sailors, including 14 Syrians and two Egyptians, while rescue teams continue search operations for the missing individuals.
