U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he is "absolutely certain" that the close relationship between the United States and Britain will continue for many years to come.
This came during his reception of the British monarch King Charles at the White House, in a visit that celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States and its independence from British occupation.
King Charles and his wife Camilla arrived in the United States on Monday for a 4-day official visit, where they were received by President Donald Trump, known for his admiration for the royal family despite the U.S. President's differing stance with the British government regarding the war with Iran.
This official visit is by far the most important and influential during Charles's reign, and its timing coincided with the 250th anniversary of the United States' declaration of independence from British rule, and it is also the first visit by a British monarch to the United States in nearly two decades.
