Trump Announces Start of Massive Oil Exploration in Greenland
US President Donald Trump announced that massive oil, gas, and mineral exploration operations are about to begin in Greenland.

US President Donald Trump announced that "massive" operations for the exploration of oil, gas, and minerals are about to begin in Greenland.
Trump did not publish details of the exploration plans there but said "there are experts who say that the quantities of oil that can be easily accessed are much larger than any other region in the world."
The United States, Denmark, and Greenland signed an agreement last month aimed at ending tensions following repeated threats by Trump to take control of the island.
Trump stated via Truth Social, "Any future attack on the United States will necessarily pass first through Greenland, where our defenses will shoot down drones, missiles, or any other form of weapons that have not even been invented yet."
The agreement signed between the three parties expanded the US military role in Greenland, paved the way for establishing two new military bases and deploying the "Golden Dome" missile defense system, and affirmed Danish sovereignty and the right of the people of Greenland to self-determination.
