Trump Considers Commando Operation if Iran Deal Fails
President Trump revealed the possibility of ordering a "commando operation" in Iran if political negotiations collapse.

President Donald Trump disclosed the potential issuance of an order to carry out what he termed a "commando operation" in Iran should all efforts to reach a political agreement fail.
This statement came following a recent escalation involving Iran launching ballistic missiles late Sunday toward Israel. Israel responded promptly, announcing early Monday morning extensive airstrikes targeting Iranian regime military sites.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump stated that any new strikes from Israel or Iran would not impact the peace talks his administration is conducting with Tehran. He added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "is not the one making the decisions."
Regarding the latest developments, Trump affirmed that the Iranian attack on Sunday would not influence his calculations, saying, "The agreement may succeed on its own, or it may not, but this will not affect it in any way."
When asked what would happen if such a deal failed "because of its content," the U.S. president said he would "consider launching a commando raid on Iran."
He elaborated, "This means one of two things. First, it could mean we enter and take control of the remaining area in the region that we have not militarily controlled. Or it could simply mean we maintain the blockade on Iran because the blockade might have been stronger than any attack launched on that country."
Meanwhile, Iranian sources have ruled out the possibility of reaching an agreement with the Trump administration at present.
