Trump: I Gave Iran Many Opportunities, and Any Deal with Them Isn't Worth the Paper It's Written On

President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday that he had given Iran many opportunities and downplayed the value of any potential deal with Tehran.

He added, "I think a deal with them isn't worth the paper it's written on. We've given them many opportunities."

Earlier today, Trump said U.S. forces are currently conducting airstrikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. He added that the strikes were in response to what he described as a failed Iranian attempt to plant naval mines in the strait.

He confirmed in a post on Truth Social that there are no mines currently present after they were removed or detonated, along with a response to Iran launching eight missiles toward a U.S. base in Jordan, all of which were intercepted.

Trump warned that any Iranian retaliation against what he called a "completely justified" attack would be met with far stronger and more intense strikes, and when it ends, only very little will remain of the Islamic Republic of Iran!, noting that the United States still holds the option of a larger attack that has not yet been carried out.
