Trump described his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping as "excellent" after a meeting in Beijing.

The conversation was "excellent," US President Donald Trump said of his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The remark came as the two leaders paused for photos with journalists at the Temple of Heaven, following bilateral discussions at the Great Hall of the People.
Responding to reporters' questions about the talks, Trump stated, "Excellent." He added, referring to China, "It's a great place. Unbelievable. China is beautiful."
According to China Central Television, the leaders' discussions went beyond regional matters to include global files. The broadcaster reported that Xi Jinping discussed with Trump the Ukraine conflict, the situation in the Middle East, and the Korean Peninsula.
Both sides, per the same source, agreed to work together to ensure the success of this year's scheduled APEC leaders' summit and the G20 summit.
The Chinese president stressed the need to make optimal use of military communication channels between China and the United States, the channel reported. He was quoted as saying: "Both sides should implement the important consensus we have reached and continue to employ political diplomacy and military communication channels to expand exchange and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, humanities, and law enforcement, among others."
