On Monday, President Donald Trump affirmed that the United States does not pursue regime change in Iran, describing the country's current leadership as "more rational" compared to earlier periods.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, Trump said, "I am not seeking to change the regime in Iran, knowing that change has already occurred; the first regime left, the second also left, and I believe the current third leadership in Iran is more rational, but we will wait and see what happens."

Previously, during remarks at the G7 summit held in France last month, Trump stated that he had never been interested in changing the Iranian regime and that the United States had never sought to alter Iran's government. He emphasized that Washington's primary objective in its conflict with Iran was to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Trump characterized the current Iranian leadership as rational, noting that dealing with their representatives is reassuring. He commented, "We are currently engaging with people I consider extremely rational, and it is a pleasure to deal with them; they are strong and intelligent individuals."

Additionally, the American president expressed his belief that the current officials in Tehran are less hardline than their predecessors, highlighting that they are earnestly working for their country's benefit and assisting it in overcoming its challenges.
