Turkey Dismantles Spy Network Operating Across Four Provinces
Turkish intelligence has broken up an international espionage ring that was funneling sensitive data to two foreign intelligence agencies, arresting seven suspects in a coordinated Saturday operation.

Turkish intelligence services have dismantled an international spy network that was actively working against the country's interests on behalf of two separate foreign intelligence agencies, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
A coordinated operation carried out on Saturday led to the arrest of seven individuals who had been transmitting sensitive information to two unidentified foreign intelligence bodies. The compromised data covered civil society organizations, associations, ethnic groups, and government employees in Turkey, according to security sources cited by Anadolu.
Intelligence officials said they had identified nine people linked to the espionage ring through meticulous intelligence work. The network's leader was among those detained during the simultaneous raids conducted across four provinces.
Joint Investigation and Legal Proceedings
The operation was the result of a joint investigation involving Turkish intelligence, the public prosecutor's office, and Ankara's counter-terrorism unit, which deployed "special teams" for the raids. Two additional network members were already serving prison sentences for unrelated crimes.
All seven arrested individuals have been referred to judicial authorities on espionage charges, and a court ordered their pretrial detention. Authorities did not disclose the identities of the two foreign intelligence agencies the network was working for.
