Two Explosive Drones Target KRG Prime Minister’s Office in Erbil
Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Directorate confirmed two Iranian-launched “Hadeed-110” drones struck the private office of KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in Piramagrun, Erbil, at 00:28 Monday; no casualties were reported.

The Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Directorate announced on Monday that the private office of Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in Piramagrun District, Erbil Governorate, was targeted by two explosive unmanned aerial vehicles.
In a statement, the Directorate said two “Hadeed-110”-type drones launched from the Iranian border struck the site at 00:28 local time on Monday morning. It added that the attack resulted in no human casualties.
The Directorate strongly condemned the assault, holding the perpetrators fully responsible for its consequences and reiterating its absolute rejection of such attacks.
Escalating drone campaign against the Kurdistan Region
This latest incident follows a series of drone strikes on Erbil and other locations across the Kurdistan Region over recent weeks, amid heightened security tensions linked to the ongoing war and mounting pressure on Iraq to consolidate all weapons under state control.
Last Thursday, Erbil came under attack by three drones, all intercepted and destroyed by Iraqi air defenses. The head of Iraq’s Security Media Cell stated there were no indications the drones originated from within Iraqi territory.
More than 500 rocket and drone attacks since war began
Recent days have seen repeated strikes on sites across the Kurdistan Region, including military facilities and energy infrastructure. Official statements indicate more than 500 rocket and drone attacks have been carried out against the Region since the war began.
These operations have been attributed to Iran-aligned Iraqi militias, as well as direct Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting Iranian Kurdish opposition groups operating inside the Kurdistan Region — positioning Erbil as one of the most prominent flashpoints tied to the U.S.–Iran rivalry.
