Bloomberg reported, citing its sources, that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) requested the deployment of Dark Eagle hypersonic missiles to the Middle East for potential use against Iran.
CENTCOM justified its request by stating that Iran had moved its missile launch platforms out of range of the US Precision Strike Missile ballistic missiles, which have a range of approximately 500 km.
The sources added that the decision regarding the deployment of hypersonic missiles has not yet been made.
The agency noted that if the deployment of the missiles is approved, it would be the first deployment of US hypersonic missiles.
