US Advisor Bolstered Algeria Security Ties, Regional Cooperation
US presidential advisor Masad Boulos met with Algeria's ambassador to discuss security, economic growth, and the Western Sahara issue.

A meeting between US presidential advisor Masad Boulos and Algeria's ambassador to the United States, Sabri Boukadoum, has underscored a push to deepen security relations and expand regional cooperation between Washington and Algiers. The discussion, which also included US chargé d'affaires in Algeria Mark Shaphiro, was described as "constructive" in a statement released Sunday by the US embassy in Algiers.
Boulos highlighted the success of a recent visit to Algeria by the US Deputy Secretary of State and the commander of US Africa Command (AFRICOM). The talks also focused on the growing economic ties between the two nations, with Boulos noting that more than 120 American companies are currently operating in Algeria. Opportunities to broaden investments in the energy sector and other industries were also reviewed.
Algeria's Regional Role
The US advisor expressed appreciation for Algeria's ongoing "vital role" and its diplomatic efforts to promote peace and security in the region. He specifically cited Algeria's "constructive engagement" toward a mutually agreed-upon solution for the Western Sahara issue, as outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 2797. "It is time to reach a decision," Boulos stated.
