US Forces Redirect 94 Ships and Disable 4 in Strait of Hormuz
US Central Command reported redirecting 94 commercial vessels and disabling 4 others in the Strait of Hormuz to enforce a blockade on Iranian ports.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Thursday that American forces have redirected the course of 94 commercial ships and disabled four others in the Strait of Hormuz.
These actions are part of enforcing a blockade aimed at preventing commercial traffic to and from Iranian ports, CENTCOM stated on its official account on the X platform.
CENTCOM specified, "As of May 21, Central Command forces have redirected 94 commercial vessels and disabled 4 others as part of enforcing the blockade intended to stop commercial traffic flow to and from Iranian ports."
In a related development, the naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported on Thursday that 31 commercial ships, oil tankers, and container vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours under their coordination.
The IRGC said in a statement carried by Tasnim news agency that the vessels transited "with coordination and security provided" by their naval forces, despite what it described as "American aggression" and unprecedented security tensions in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement added that the IRGC navy worked to "secure a safe passage to maintain global trade flow" through the strait, which is recognized as one of the world’s most strategic energy transit routes.
