US Military Strikes Iranian Targets Amid Rising Tensions; Trump Warns of Further Action
The US Central Command announced airstrikes on Iranian military sites near the Strait of Hormuz following a drone attack on an oil tanker, with President Trump threatening further military action.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) released a video on Sunday morning via the platform X, stating that US Navy and Air Force fighter jets conducted strikes against ten Iranian military targets at multiple locations within and around the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM indicated that these strikes were in response to a drone attack targeting the oil tanker M/T Kiku in the Strait of Hormuz.
US President Donald Trump announced that American fighter jets had targeted Iranian missile storage sites, drone facilities, and radar locations due to Iran’s violation of a ceasefire agreement.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump stated: "US aircraft launched airstrikes on Iranian missile storage sites, drone facilities, and coastal radar locations for violating the ceasefire agreement, once again! They very likely will never learn."
Trump further warned that Iran "will not remain" if the United States decides to escalate the situation, adding: "There may come a time when we can no longer be logical and are forced to complete the mission we started successfully by military means. If that happens, Iran will no longer exist."
The US military had reported targeting Iran again just hours after an oil tanker was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, marking the most serious escalation since both parties signed a temporary peace agreement.
Both countries have exchanged accusations of violating the agreement reached about two weeks ago to end the four-month-long conflict.
Later, Fox News cited a US defense official confirming that the strikes on Iranian targets had been completed.
Earlier, Washington had announced it struck Iranian targets overnight, while Iran claimed to have hit US-related targets on Saturday in retaliation.
The oil tanker was attacked on Saturday in the Strait of Hormuz following a separate assault on a cargo ship on Thursday, escalating the situation further.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations reported that the tanker damaged in Saturday’s attack sustained harm to its command room but all crew members were safe.
The Joint Maritime Information Center, operated by a coalition of naval forces to protect navigation, raised the security threat level due to recent incidents.
Iran did not directly comment on reports of specific attacks on ships, but Iranian state television reported that the Revolutionary Guard fired "warning shots" at unidentified vessels attempting to pass through routes not approved by Iran.
Earlier, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the country launched attacks on military targets linked to the United States, while Bahrain reported an Iranian drone attack.
