Trump: Very Soon I Will Declare Hormuz Strait 'American Land'

President Donald Trump said he will soon announce that "the Strait of Hormuz has become American land," according to his description.

In a speech at a police event, Trump added: "I told my administration leaders that we must take a short trip to the Middle East to prevent a potential disaster" without providing details about it.

Trump described Iran as the world's top state sponsor of terrorism, saying: "I used military force more than I wanted to, but pressure on the Iranian regime is essential to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons." He added: "I will never apologize—I did what was right."

Trump reiterated the threat that his country "will strike Iran economically with great force." He said the maritime blockade on Iran "is ongoing and no ships will pass unless we allow them to," describing the blockade as a "wall of steel."

He also renewed the threat that his country would respond "a hundred times more forcefully" if Iran attacks.

These remarks come a day after comments by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who said the United States will soon implement measures "unseen by anyone before" on Tehran, possibly next week.
