A US military source disclosed on Tuesday that Russian assistance played a crucial role in helping Iranian specialists study and comprehend the flight tactics employed by American fighter aircraft and bombers. This insight came amid growing concerns about Iran's evolving military capabilities.

The official cautioned that the downing of an F-15E last month, along with ground fire targeting an F-35, revealed that US aerial tactics have become considerably predictable. These events underscored vulnerabilities in American air operations that Iran has been able to exploit.

Iran's Strategic Adjustments During Ceasefire

The military figure explained that Iran took advantage of a month-long ceasefire with the United States to dismantle dozens of ballistic missile sites that had been previously targeted. During this period, Iran relocated mobile missile launchers to new positions, enhancing their survivability against future strikes.

Despite suffering losses, Iran adapted its tactics in preparation for a potential resumption of airstrikes. The official highlighted that several Iranian ballistic missiles were launched from deeply buried caves and granite mountain facilities, complicating efforts by US forces to fully neutralize these targets.

Challenges in Targeting Iranian Missile Infrastructure

US forces concentrated their bombing campaigns on the entrances of these underground complexes, causing partial collapses and blockages. However, these strikes fell short of completely destroying the sites, allowing Iran to later reopen and reclaim many of them.

This resilience in Iran's missile infrastructure presents ongoing challenges for US military operations, as the underground locations provide significant protection against aerial assaults.
