Jorge Rodríguez, president of Venezuela’s National Assembly, announced on Thursday that the death toll from the two powerful earthquakes that struck the country on June 24 has risen to 3,811.

He added that the number of injured individuals has increased to 16,740, while rescue teams have managed to save 6,462 people so far.

On June 24, Venezuela experienced a series of earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, with their epicenters located in Yaracuy state, occurring approximately 40 seconds apart.

International humanitarian aid delivered to Venezuela has exceeded 7,000 tons, including food supplies, relief materials, medical provisions, and essential items designated to support the affected population.

This assistance arrives amid growing humanitarian needs in the disaster-stricken areas, which have suffered extensive damage to infrastructure and interruptions to several basic services, complicating the situation on the ground.

Venezuelan authorities, in coordination with local and international teams, continue to manage rescue and relief operations despite significant challenges, notably the difficulty in accessing some affected regions and the widespread destruction caused by the earthquakes.

Search efforts for survivors are ongoing alongside the distribution of humanitarian aid to impacted communities across various locations, while relevant agencies persist in their work to mitigate the consequences of the natural disaster that struck the country.
