Iranian media outlets continue their efforts to refute Western intelligence leaks reporting that Mojtaba Khamenei suffered severe injuries, amid his continued absence from any visual appearance since the Tehran strike on February 28, 2026.

Iranian websites carried statements attributed to Tayyebah Mahrouzadeh (Khamenei's wife's mother), who claimed that he enjoys complete well-being and secretly participated in burying his father, Ali Khamenei, at the Razavi Shrine, in an attempt to explain his absence from official ceremonies and justify his disappearance from public view for security reasons.

These Iranian justifications follow reports published by Western media based on informed sources, stating that Mojtaba Khamenei sustained serious injuries leading to significant facial disfigurement and the loss of one of his legs, which impaired his ability to move and appear publicly. In contrast, officials of the Iranian regime limited the injuries to mere minor bruises on the back, considering that they did not affect his leadership capabilities.

Despite the multiple narratives emanating from Tehran asserting his physical and mental capability, his restriction to issuing written statements without any audio or visual recording documenting his health condition raises widespread questions, given the absence of any independent medical report settling the nature of his injuries or confirming his field readiness.
