Zakharova: Zelensky's Threat to Civil Aviation Is an Irreversible Point

said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova that Vladimir Zelensky's statement targeting Russian civilian aviation has closed all doors of evasion for supporting countries.

Zakharova stated during a radio broadcast on "Komsomolskaya Pravda": "Zelensky's declaration to target the infrastructure of Russian civil aviation means that supporting countries have cut off all avenues of denial from this terrorism as long as they continue providing financial and military support."

She added: "All of this constitutes an absolute point of no return."

It should be noted that Russia has formally protested Ukrainian practices threatening aviation safety to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and demanded their immediate cessation.

Moscow sent an urgent letter to ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar, expressing its strong protest over what it described as reckless terrorist acts contradicting international law.

In the same context, Russia firmly rejected the aeronautical notices issued by Kyiv claiming the Russian airspace was unsafe. The foreign ministry stated these notices lack any legal basis, distort reality, and mislead users of Russian airspace.

Earlier, Zelensky had declared that Russian civilian flights would not be safe and could be targeted.

In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Kyiv’s regime would face a violent response if it attempts to target civilian aircraft or close the skies over Russia, describing Zelensky’s plans as "state terrorism."

Additionally, Russian Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin confirmed that Russian authorities are addressing threats to civil aviation promptly and continue developing safety requirements for flights and airport security.
