On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces had carried out strikes on Russian oil and industrial facilities.

In a post on the X platform accompanied by a video of the attack, Zelensky stated that Ukraine continues to impose "long-range sanctions" on Russian military installations and the oil sector.

Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo aircraft targeted a military factory in the city of Cheboksary last night, which he said supplies the Russian army with components for drones and missiles.

He added that the strikes also hit the Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region, noting that these targets are located more than 900 kilometers from the frontline.

The attacks further extended to two oil infrastructure facilities in the Vladimir region, situated approximately 700 kilometers away.

Describing the operation as a drone attack on two industrial sites in Russia, Zelensky expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian armed forces for their precision.

He said, "I express my appreciation to the fighters of the Special Operations Forces, the unmanned systems forces, and the Ukrainian defense intelligence. I thank everyone who fights and works for Ukraine."
