Zelensky Plans Large Drone Factory in UK Ahead of Meeting Burnham

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced his intention to establish a large factory for producing drones in the United Kingdom as part of a bilateral cooperation agreement.

In an interview with Sky News, Zelensky stated, "I want to build a very large factory in Britain, introduce new technologies, and share them with our partners. Of course, we are ready to share our expertise with Britain, and I hope Britain will share its expertise with us as well."

He further indicated his aim to conclude a "very strong agreement" on drones with the new British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who recently assumed office.

Earlier reports by The Guardian indicated that Zelensky is scheduled to meet Burnham in the UK on July 27 at a military base where Ukrainian forces are trained.

According to the newspaper, the two sides are expected to discuss joint projects, particularly the Stone Cloak electronic warfare system, which is designed for use in drones and other weapon systems.

Russia has asserted that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder settlement efforts, lead to direct involvement of NATO countries in the conflict, and constitute "playing with fire."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any shipments including guided weapons to Ukraine would become legitimate targets for Russia. The Kremlin also declared that the West's continued provision of arms to Ukraine does not advance negotiations and will have negative consequences.
