Zelensky Praises Ukrainian Airstrikes on Saint Petersburg
President Zelensky commends Ukrainian air raids on Saint Petersburg as a just response to Russian attacks and vows to intensify Kyiv's strikes.

President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed approval on Wednesday for the Ukrainian military's nighttime airstrikes on the city of Saint Petersburg, describing them as a "just" retaliation against Russian assaults on Ukraine.
Zelensky also promised that Kyiv would escalate its strike operations. Speaking at a joint press conference in Kyiv with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Zelensky stated, "I believe these are just strikes. Only one day ago, a large-scale attack occurred, and we responded accordingly." He added, "It is only a matter of time before we can increase the pace of our responses."
Mark Rutte commented, "While Ukraine continues to endure, innovate, and achieve victories on the battlefield, Russia is becoming increasingly desperate."
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Ukrainian drones targeted military facilities and energy sites in Saint Petersburg, according to both Russian and Ukrainian officials. The attacks coincided with the opening of a significant economic forum in the city, which is attended by several Russian leaders.
