Zelenskyy on 'Diesel Deal': Giving Gifts to Putin Will Not Achieve Peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that allowing Russia to sell diesel fuels the war, stating that giving gifts to Putin will not achieve peace.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the announcement of a US-Russian agreement regarding diesel supplies, warning of its implications for the war between Moscow and Kyiv.
He affirmed that Ukraine is ready to take reciprocal steps to de-escalate tensions, while simultaneously warning that "giving gifts to (Russian President Vladimir) Putin will not achieve peace."
Zelenskyy said in statements today, Friday, that allowing Russia to sell oil products is an investment in continuing the war rather than ending it.
He added: "We count on fair American support for our efforts to protect lives and safeguard our people in Ukraine."
US President Donald Trump announced today, Friday, that he had agreed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to supply the US and global markets with more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel.
He clarified that Russia would supply another 500,000 tons of diesel in November, followed immediately by one million tons.
He also noted that if Russian diesel refineries are ready, Russia will supply an additional three million tons of diesel fuel within a short period.
