  • Editorial accounts: name, email address, and password (stored as a hash)

2.3 Information from third parties

3. How we use information

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Site and analyze how it is used. The cookies we use fall into three categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function (session, security, language preference)
  • Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Site (bounce rate, traffic sources)
  • Advertising — used by us and our advertising partners to deliver relevant ads (see section 5)

You can control cookies through your browser settings or our consent banner.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense and other third-party advertising vendors to serve ads on the Site.

Required disclosures under Google AdSense Program Policies:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our Site or other sites on the Internet.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Alternatively, users may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu (EEA users).

For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent banner will be presented before any non-essential cookies are placed, in accordance with the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. The Site uses a Google certified Consent Management Platform (CMP). You can reopen the banner at any time to change or withdraw your choices.

6. Third-party services we use

We rely on the following service providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google AdSense — advertising — Google policy
  • Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and DDoS protection — Cloudflare policy
  • OneSignal — push notifications in the mobile app — OneSignal policy
  • Embedded media — YouTube, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and similar platforms may set their own cookies when their content is embedded in our articles.

7. International transfers

We are based in Lebanon. Some of our service providers (including Google and Cloudflare) operate globally, which means your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. These providers use mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard such transfers.
