Google Unveils New Android App for Google Finance with AI Features
Google has introduced a dedicated Google Finance app for Android featuring real-time market data, AI-driven insights, and upcoming iOS support.

Google has introduced a new mobile application focused on Google Finance, designed to centralize users’ watchlists and deliver real-time market updates, live financial news, and an AI-powered “Key Moments” feature that clarifies stock movements.
The app is initially available on Android devices, with Google confirming plans to release an iOS version within the next few months. Additional functionalities, including live earnings call audio, are also expected to be added.
Competition in Financial Information Apps
This standalone Google Finance app represents an effort by Google to establish a presence in the competitive financial information sector, positioning itself against platforms like Yahoo Finance and trading applications such as Robinhood.
Alongside the app launch, Google announced that its AI-enhanced Google Finance web experience, first revealed last year, is exiting beta and introducing new capabilities.
New Portfolio Features on Google Finance Web
Google is rolling out a global portfolios feature within the updated Google Finance web interface, enabling users to monitor all their investments through a consolidated dashboard that tracks holdings and performance. Existing portfolios will appear automatically, and users can create new ones by uploading files or describing their investments to an AI chatbot.
After setting up portfolios, users can leverage Google Finance’s AI research tool to pose questions such as identifying underrepresented sectors within their investments.
AI-Driven Task Management and Insights
The platform now includes an AI feature that allows users to create tasks with natural language prompts, such as generating timely market briefings or summaries of portfolio performance. The AI assistant can tailor insights based on the user’s watchlist or portfolio, operating continuously in the background once tasks are configured.
These portfolio and task management features are currently accessible on the web, with plans to integrate them into the Google Finance app in the upcoming months.
