£52m offer emerges as Salah eyes European stay
Mohamed Salah prefers to remain in Europe this summer, as Fenerbahce prepares a £52m three-year contract proposal.

A £52 million contract proposal could be heading Mohamed Salah's way this summer, with the Liverpool forward reportedly prioritizing a European destination over a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. The 33-year-old Egyptian is expected to leave Anfield after nearly a decade, following a season where his form has noticeably dipped.
According to reports, Turkish side Fenerbahce is ready to offer a three-year deal worth approximately £52 million in total wages. The club, formerly managed by Jose Mourinho, has held talks with Salah's representatives and outlined plans to build the team around him in pursuit of their first league title since 2014.
Contract details and wage structure
The proposed contract would see Salah earn an annual salary of £17.3 million. During discussions, his agents were informed of the club's intentions to construct their squad around the winger's talents. The £52 million figure represents the total earnings over the three-year period.
This development comes amid ongoing speculation linking Salah with a switch to the Saudi Pro League, where he was the subject of a £150 million offer from Al Ittihad in 2023—a bid Liverpool rejected. Despite the potential for higher earnings in Saudi Arabia, The Sun reports that the player's top preference is to stay in Europe.
Interest from Spain, Italy, and the US
Reports in Egypt have also suggested that Spanish giants Real Madrid are at the front of the queue for Salah's signature. However, it is understood that the club's recruitment strategy typically does not allow for a generous package for players in the latter stages of their careers.
Serie A sides Roma, Juventus, and Inter Milan are also said to be monitoring the situation. A potential reunion with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in the MLS has been floated, though league wage restrictions could complicate such a move.
Salah joined Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp in June 2017, amassing two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, and two League Cups. He announced in March that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
