Al-Ahli Saudi Club is set to part ways with three first-team players following their second consecutive Asian Champions League victory.

Al-Ahli Saudi Club is nearing the release of three first-team players from the squad that secured the Asian Champions League Elite title for the second consecutive season.
Saudi journalist Dabbas Al-Dosari, who covers Al-Ahli news, reported that the club’s management has finalized the futures of Ricardo Matias, Enzo Millot, and Mathieu Dams after consultations with German coach Matthias Jaissle.
Al-Dosari stated on his X account: “It has been confirmed that three players will leave Al-Ahli Saudi Club: Ricardo Matias, Enzo Millot, and Mathieu Dams. The technical committee plans to hold a meeting before its members depart for vacation to agree on a strategic plan for the next three seasons, extending to the 2029 World Cup.”
Player Contributions and Contract Details
French midfielder Enzo Millot joined Al-Ahli in August 2025 from German club Stuttgart. He appeared in 37 matches across all competitions, scoring 8 goals.
Brazilian Ricardo Matias participated in only 3 Saudi League matches this season and did not score any goals.
The 19-year-old forward transferred to Al-Ahli at the beginning of 2026 from Brazilian club Internacional, with a contract extending until 2030.
Belgian defender Mathieu Dams played in 20 matches this season across all competitions without scoring.
Strategic Focus and Coaching Contract
The same source indicated that the club plans to focus its efforts during the upcoming summer on preparing for participation in the 2029 World Cup, where Al-Ahli will compete as the Asian champions.
Al-Ahli’s board intends to sign contracts with several players for a minimum duration of three seasons to ensure stability and harmony within the team.
Regarding coach Matthias Jaissle, who led the team to the continental title in 2025 and 2026, the club’s executive management aims to extend his contract by one year. However, the German coach seeks a contract guaranteeing his stay until the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
Season Performance Overview
Al-Ahli concluded the Saudi League season in third place, behind champions Al-Nassr and runners-up Al-Hilal. The club also reached the King’s Cup semifinals, with its most significant achievement being the consecutive Asian Champions League Elite titles in 2025 and 2026.
